Widgets, Live Activity and Siri

You don't have to open Spellhunt to know whether today's puzzle is waiting. Here's how to keep your streak in view, and what you can ask Siri.

The Spellhunt Daily widget

The Spellhunt Daily widget shows your streak and today's puzzle: the day's theme, and whether you've solved it yet ("Ready to play" or "Solved today"). Tap it to go straight to the Daily.

It comes in two sizes for the Home Screen, small and medium, and two for the Lock Screen:

• Circular: your streak and its flame.
• Rectangular: your streak and today's theme.

Adding it

1. Touch and hold an empty spot on your Home Screen until the apps jiggle.
2. Tap Edit, then Add Widget, and search for Spellhunt.
3. Pick a size and tap Add Widget.

For the Lock Screen, touch and hold the Lock Screen, tap Customize, choose the Lock Screen, then tap the widget area to add Spellhunt.

Claim a goal from the widget

When one of today's three goals is finished but not yet claimed, the widget shows a Claim button with its coin reward. Tap it to claim, and the coins land in your wallet the next time you open Spellhunt.

The Daily Live Activity

While today's Daily is still waiting and you have a streak going, Spellhunt can show a Live Activity on your Lock Screen and, on iPhones that have one, in the Dynamic Island. It shows your streak, today's theme and the time until the next Daily, and it changes to Solved once you've played. It ends when the next Daily arrives.

If you'd rather not see it, switch Live Activities off for Spellhunt in the iPhone Settings app.

Siri, Shortcuts and the Action Button

Spellhunt adds three shortcuts you can use with Siri, in Spotlight, in the Shortcuts app, or on the Action Button:

You don't have to set anything up. The phrases work once Spellhunt is installed and you've opened it once. To put one on the Action Button, open the iPhone Settings app, choose Action Button, then Shortcut, and pick a Spellhunt shortcut.
